I’M MOVING TO SEATTLE!(I’ll probably post this a couple times till the move this summer)

Well actually, Bellingham but it’s just a little North of Seattle. After 32 years in Birmingham, Alabama it’s finally time to move on. I loved growing up/living here but I want to go experience things in another place. The Pacific Northwest has always intrigued me, and is one of my favorite places to photograph. I have a wonderful woman that I love there, and between my trips over the years plus the amazing bands/people I know in Seattle already, it’s where I want to be. I feel I am becoming less and less creative photography wise while in the South and want some new areas to explore and document. I will say moving from one Bham to another Bham is pretty hilarious though. Below are a few different things to mention/announce in prep of all this…
Nervous Energies: Obviously this means Nervous Energies is moving too. My new home base for filming sessions will be in Seattle, with Bellingham and Vancouver as secondary cities to film in. As always, get in touch if you want to do one or if you’re coming through the area.
Birmingham (or nearby) bands: I will be using the rest of May and early June to be packing, etc. so I’m in town. If you’ve ever wanted to book a shoot or do a Nervous Energies session before, now is the time to set that up. After June 12th my availability will be way more restricted to book anything, and after mid-July I won’t be available much at all.
Seattle / Bellingham / Vancouver (or nearby) bands: I will begin booking shoots and sessions in August. Would love to meet and work with bands in the area and have some rad folks to hang with. If you aren’t even in a band and just want to say hey I’m from up here, feel free!
To get in contact: ryan (at) ryanrussell dot net(Above print available - http://ryanrussell.bigcartel.com)
New website will finally launch (fingers crossed) before July and will serve as a huge index of my work over the past 13 years. I will be adding unseen extras constantly from past shoots, as well as everything from the new ones. Also, I always get asked what I charge for shoots. Smaller bands get lower prices than major label projects and it’s all based on how in-depth the shoot is. A sliding scale is always the best/fair method to do business for band photography, in my opinion at least. I hear stories from bands all the time that assume I don’t want to work with local bands since I work with larger bands a lot. This is not true at all. All bands from the youngest starting out, all the way to the biggest bands in the world deserve great photographs. I like to work with anyone & everyone so don’t feel weird just emailing and asking. If you think my work is the right fit for you, let’s make it happen.
If you don’t already, follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and 500px. I will be doing the full cross country drive to Seattle. An insane amount of photos will be posted during the trip from places I have always wanted to see. They will be posted on the below sites:
http://www.twitter.com/xryanrussellxhttp://www.facebook.com/ryanrussellphotographer (new page)http://www.500px.com/ryanrussellhttp://www.instagram.com/ryanrussell
…of course, http://www.ryanrussell.net as well.
If you feel like reblogging this or want to let some friends know up in the PNW to get in touch, thanks in advance for helping me spread the word!
